What’s Needed to Own a Franchise
Like any business, owning a franchised Foster’s Grille restaurant means making a financial investment. To help you decide if Foster’s Grille is the right opportunity for you, we’ve laid out some of the basic requirements needed to be considered for a franchise.
$40,000Initial Franchise Fee | $100,000Liquid Capital Required |
$500,000Minimum Net Worth | 5% & 3% Royalty and National Advertising Fee |
$291,700 - $538,100Total Estimated Initial Investment |

Beyond the financial requirements, we’ve found that certain types of people thrive within the Foster’s Grille environment. These are people who are:
- Aligned with the Foster’s Grille brand and vision
- Able to hire the right people
- Committed to delivering quality food and service
- Strong managers and natural leaders
- Involved in both the day-to-day operations and business side of the restaurant
- Long-term oriented and focused on reaching larger business goals
- Involved in their communities
If this sounds like you, our franchise team members would love to hear from you. Interested in opening multiple locations? We have discounts and Multi-Unit Area Development Agreements available.

Application Process
you’re interested
to fill out our online franchise information request form. We’ll get back to you soon!
You will have an introductory phone call with one of our franchise team members. We’ll learn your interests and you’ll learn about the history of Foster’s Grille, our current and available locations, and the territories where expansion is possible. We will also talk about the specifics of finances, operational needs, and choosing a location.
After the first informational phone call, it’s time to fill out the official application form. Have questions about this? Just ask your franchise team member during that initial phone call.
Once we have your complete application, our Franchise Development Team will review your materials and make a decision about your application. If we decide you’re a good fit for our franchise program, we’ll provide you with our Franchise Disclosure Document (“FDD”) and then it’s time for Step 5.
face-to-face meeting!
This is when stuff starts getting exciting. We will invite you to join us for a face-to-face meeting at our Haymarket, Virginia headquarters. You will have an opportunity to ask as many questions as you like, to meet key personnel, and to get a better feel for our company culture and personality. We will talk about potential territories, your goals and objectives, and your responsibilities as a Foster’s Grille franchise owner. We will also review the FDD and answer your questions about the FDD.
Congratulations! This is the point where it all becomes official. You will receive a franchise agreement from our corporate office, which will include information about your franchise territory and the timeline for opening your franchise.
